Frequently Asked Questions
Orders & Availability
Are your products handmade?
Yes. Each piece is handcrafted by independent artisans who share our values of quality, care, and timeless design. Subtle variations in color, texture, or shape are part of the beauty and uniqueness of handmade work.
Are your products ready to ship?
All items are ready-made in small batches. Once you place an order, it is prepared and shipped directly from the artisan’s studio.
Can I request a custom order?
At this time, we focus on our curated collections to ensure consistency in quality and delivery. Select limited-edition collaborations may include bespoke options in the future.
Shipping & Delivery
Where do you ship?
We offer international shipping. Delivery times vary depending on the artisan’s location and destination.
Who ships my order?
Your order is carefully packed and shipped directly from the artisan who created it. Each package reflects the origin of the piece and the hands behind it.
How long will it take to receive my order?
Most orders ship within 5–10 business days. Once dispatched, you’ll receive a tracking link. Please note that international deliveries may take longer depending on customs procedures.
How much does shipping cost?
Shipping fees are calculated at checkout based on your region and the origin of your item. We aim to keep costs fair and transparent.
Returns & Exchanges
Do you accept returns?
We accept returns for unused items in their original condition within 14 days of delivery. Because each piece is handcrafted and shipped from independent studios, return instructions may vary slightly.

How does Mathèa support artisans?
We work directly with independent makers and small workshops. Each purchase helps sustain traditional techniques, fair wages, and regenerative practices.
What kind of packaging do you use?
Packaging is minimal and eco-conscious, prioritizing recyclable and compostable materials. Many artisans reuse natural wrapping and locally sourced materials.
Care & Handling
How do I take care of my tableware?
1. Grab a soft washcloth or a soft sponge and put a few drops of mild dish soap on it. Soak the cloth or sponge with water and wipe the bowl down thoroughly inside and outside. In the process, don’t submerge or soak the bowl in the water.
- Try not to use a scrubbing pad or steel wool unless your bowl has a tough buildup. Soft cloths and sponges are enough for basic cleaning.
- Don't put wooden bowls in the dishwasher.
2. Rinse the bowl.
3. Dry the wooden bowl with a clean towel.
4. Set the bowl in a drying rack to finish drying.
